Lent III

March 7,  2010

FROM THE RECTOR

As you'll see in the article below, I am pleased to report that Trinity was able to send almost $2,000 to Anglican Relief and Development in support of the victims of the Haiti earthquake.  Our appeal was included in this newsletter and in the Sunday bulletin for several weeks and I am grateful for the generosity of those who were able to give.

I'd also like to draw to your attention another appeal which may have gone a bit unnoticed.  You will read below about a canned food drive for Lunch Break here in Red Bank.  So far, response hasn't been very good but as a parish which has historically supported this ministry I know we can do better.

On March 18th,  I will join several local pastors at Lunch Break to deliver food and serve meals.  I would be very proud to bring a large supplyof items from the people of this parish.  As a I stated in my address at the Annual Meeting, now that our house is more or less in order I'd like this year to focus on outreach.   This means not just raising money and food items,  but also inviting people to join us for worship and activities.  You'll notice that our Spring will be a busy one with many opportunities to "reach out" to those who are unchurched or are in need.  So let me thank you for your support, let em encourage us all to do better and let me challenge you to think of ways we can reach out to those around us in "thought word and deed."

Finally I ask for your prayers for our Diocesan Convention this weekend (Friday - Saturday).   Please pray for the Diocese, our Bishop and for me and our delegates (Tim May, EMEly Telford and Janet Pflederer).

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday!

 yours in Christ,
