FROM THE RECTOR

I was pleased to see that so many people have signed up for the Adult Social this Saturday evening, hosted by the Lynch family.   If you'd like to attend there is still time to sign up, but the clock is ticking!  See below for more details.

Speaking of fellowship, this coming Thursday marks the kick-off for our summer Bible study called, "Four weeks with Phil."    Philemon is the shortest of Paul's Epistles.  In fact, it is the shortest Book in the entire New Testament, a mere twenty-five verses.  This means that we can (hopefully) cover it in just four weeks.   The letter to Philemon is a personal  letter from Paul to Philemon, appealing for the freedom of a slave named Onesimus.   In just twenty-five verses we'll cover such topics as Christian brotherhood, discrimination,  stereotyping, transformation, grace, bravery, love and trust in the Providence of God.   The study of God's Word is always time well spent, and I hope you'll join us.   And as always, family and friends are welcome!

 See you in Church,

"FOUR WEEKS WITH PHIL" - Starting Thursday, August 5th  What does the Bible have to say about broken relationship?   How do we challenge other Christians when they’ve wronged us?   What does it mean to say we are brothers and sisters in Christ?    We will cover these questions and more as we will meet in the Parish Hall from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm for a four week study of the New Testament Book of Philemon.  This short study will begin with a Potluck Dinner and fellowship at 6:00 pm,  followed by the study from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm.  Nursery care will be provided. If you've never been to a Bible study before, this is a great opportunity to kick the tires with only a four week commitment.  Please sign up at coffee hour or email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. I will also be setting up a box in the parish hall if anyone from our congregation would like to contribute as well that would be great!

The ACT teens will be meeting to put together a care package for Milton Murray who is serving in Afghanistan. We are going to post a list on Trinity's website and in the parish hall. Please prayerfully consider a donation. We will have a donation box for you to drop off the item every Sunday in August.
