FROM THE RECTOR
One of the great joys of being a priest on vacation is that you get to visit and talk with other clergy on Sundays to see what they do and how they do it. I've gotten several good ideas from these visits and a short stack of information which may come in handy in our ministry in Red Bank. As I mentioned last week, I hope that you too will keep an eye out for new ideas in your travels this summer and share them with me when you return.
But despite my informal 'recon' mission, I am ready to return to Trinity and I look forward to joining our parish family for worship this Sunday. I will spend the rest of the summer getting ready for our fall program season and some new ministries which I hope to see established.
In the meantime, in August I will launch a short Bible study on the Book of Philemon called "five weeks with Phil" (see below). "Philemon" is the shortest book of the New Testament and not one which is ordinarily the focus of a Bible study. But, as with all Scripture, it is the Word of God and all it takes is a bit of mining to uncover the gems. Join us for this short study for a taste of what is coming in the fall.
I look forward to seeing you this Sunday.
