The Second Sunday after the Epiphany

FROM THE RECTOR

This Sunday is our annual meeting, where we will elect our new Vestry, look at 2011 and prepare for 2012.   The meeting will begin promptly at 11:30, and lunch will be provided to all who stay for the meeting.  My hope is that we can cover the necessary business in under an hour(!).  Please make plans to join us for this important meeting.

You'll notice below two changes to how we do things at Trinity.  First, it has become apparent that Coffee Hour is being repeatedly hosted by less than fifteen families out of a total of over one hundred.  When polled,  people have stated that hosting Coffee Hour can cost over $100 and requires a great deal of coordinating and planning.  Starting January 22nd, we are going to try a new system whereby each family is invited to bring something each week to share with the congregation. Collections will also be taken each week to cover the cost of a small standing order of bagels.  We often have over one hundred people in Coffee Hour each week, and it is my hope that this new plan will help us spread the expense of this important ministry.

Second, we are starting a new sign up sheet for Altar Flowers for 2012.  This sheet will be available in the parish hall and up to two families can share a Sunday.   Please see below for further details.

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday, until then I remain

Yours in Christ,

LAST WEEK'S SERMON -   The sermon from last Sunday entitled "The Process Of Conversion" can be found here on our website. Sermons are posted every Monday morning and are available on the website or Itunes.

POT LUCK COFFEE HOUR - STARTING JANUARY 22nd- We are changing the policy of coffee hour due to the time commitment, resources, and availability for parishioners. We will be testing out our new system for the months of January and February. We are encouraging each family to bring something to share on Sunday morning if you are planning to come to coffee hour. However, everyone is welcome to attend even if you are unable to bring something.  The idea behind this is to be able to give everyone the chance to participate without the pressure of handling the entire coffee hour for both time and resources. If you have any questions please feel free to contact Rachel McKibben at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

ALTAR FLOWERS & SANCTUARY LAMP - A new sign up list for 2012 is now posted in the parish hall.  If you would like to sign up for Altar Flowers and/or Sanctuary Lamp, please sign up on each list and indicate if they are in memory or in honor of someone. It could be up to two families per week. Altar Flowers is $75 donation per family and Sanctuary Lamp is $10 donation for each week.  These donations will go into a fund to offset the cost for weeks where there are no memorials.
